EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

TAFL Center organizes extensive educational and recreational activities to ensure that students have a holistic experience while learning the Arabic language.

Arabic Calligraphy

The Arabic Calligraphy course aims to show students the importance of Arabic calligraphy in Arab society. In this course students will learn how to write in different types of Arabic script. By the end of the course, students will have improved their writing of the Arabic script.

Journalism Club

Students are kept up to date with daily national and international news through the Journalism Club. Students learn how to report their own pieces of news as well as develop their critical thinking skills in Arabic through writing reports and filming their own news coverage.

Cooking Club

The centre offers more hours than any other language centre in Alexandria while maintaining competitive fees. TAFL students rapidly improve their Arabic language skills for an appropriate price

TAFL was founded in 1985 as part of Alexandria University's Faculty of Arts. The Faculty of Arts was established in 1939, before the establishment of the university itself in 1942, making it Alexandria University’s first faculty. The TAFL Center is considered one of the oldest centres for teaching Arabic as a foreign language in the MENA region. Since opening in 1985, TAFL has been a pioneer in teaching Arabic as a foreign language.
